At the start of 1969, the American, Ralph Baer demonstrated a sort of game to a handful of electronics giants: the television video game system.
Magnavox, part of the Dutch Phillips group took up the distribution and launched a new product under the name, ‘Magnavox Odyssey’. No one would have dared dream that this novelty would grow into a worldwide phenomenon. After the success of the Odyssey, countless video game systems and video games were brought out..
Now that Mario Bros is more popular than Mickey Mouse, it's time for an overview exhibition on the video game system: GAME OVER. The core of this exhibition is drawn from the private collection of Gyz La Rivière.
The vistor not only gets a closer look at the origins and development of the video game, but can play them too (over 200 of them). Atari 2600, Pong, Pac Man, Sony Playstation, Sega, Virtual Boy and many more to see and to play in the MaMARCADE.
